Contestant's Case to Win
This is based on the number of votes received. THE HOLE THING creates a line of whimsical sweaters, house wares, and accessories made from recycled felted wool. The sweaters and scarves have die-cut circles in them. Often called "swiss cheese sweaters”, they are "windows" for whatever shirt or blouse is worn underneath. The leftover circles are then recycled and appliquéd onto other products including felted candleholders, vases, and hats. They are also combined with bright buttons to create a line of jewelry, garlands and felted bags.
I previously worked in knitwear design for Susan Bristol Inc for sixteen years. THE HOLE THING has been featured in the Boston Globe Sunday Magazine in The Find, Newsweek Magazine, and I was chosen by Boston Ladies Who Launch as entrepreneur of the month. THE HOLE THING will be featured in the next issue of Studios Magazine on newsstands March 31st.
I would like to be considered as a winner of the Leading Moms in Business because I know I set a great example for other mothers to do what they love, and to know that they can create anything they set their hearts to. My environmentally friendly business is an example of how rewarding it is to be good to the earth, and to live your dreams. Life is about finding out what you care about, and love, and getting about doing it.
