I DID finally get my Britax carseat but it is the wrong one. I can't get anyone to respond to me so I can return it and get my money back. I don't know what to do. These carseats are very expensive and I am stuck with something I can't use. HELP I don't know what to do. This company is this absolute worst on-line retail experience I have ever had.

A week has passed, no seat. I emailed customer service on the 16th wondering if I could just get an update. It is now the 21st and no repsonse period. No seat, no response. Have I been taken for my money? I am happy to support your foundation! It's such a great cause. I just wish to not feel like I have been taken for my money or something. That and I need that seat like yesterday! I didn't know that my little guy was getting too big for his infant seat and have a great concern for his safety.

I ordered 2 car seats from hipmonkey.com. I did order them knowing they were on back order but i read the terms and conditions and it states that payment will not be taken out until the item ships. The money was immediately taken out and i have sent 2 emails and no reply's I am getting frustrated. ALL I WANT TO KNOW IS IF YOU KNOW WHEN THE ITEM IS EXPECTED TO SHIP AND WHY WAS THE MONEY ALREADY TAKEN OUT OF MY ACCOUNT????

I made an order on February 3rd for a Radian XTSL in Nitro through Hip Monkey because I love that they donate car seats to families in need and I wanted to support this cause. I knew that the car seat was out of stock at the time, but I had a month time before I needed it. I was surprised when they took the money out of my account immediately. No other online store that I have ever dealt with does that when an item is not in stock. Everyone else takes the money right before shipping. Well it is now 1 month later and I still have no car seat and I'm out of time for waiting. I tried to be understanding, but this is a ridiculous wait time! Every other online store that I visited has this seat in stock, so there is absolutely no excuse for Hip Monkey to delay so long. I've sent them an email asking for updates but I have not gotten any response. Their cause sounds like a great idea, but with their horrible business ethic I cannot recommend them to anyone. I'm very worried about getting my money back now that they've already taken it without delivering a product. I'll need to wait for that to be refunded before going somewhere else. Car Seats cannot be delayed 1 month or more!

WOW wish I would have read these post before ordering from Hip Monkey. I ordered the Britax Marathon CS, it was listed as back ordered. I emailed the owner prior to placing the order to confirm they would for SURE get these in and I was promised it would not be a promblem. I was in no hurry since my son was only 5 months old and still using his infant seat. I did however pass up a HUGE sale at Babies R Us to purchase from this company because of the low cost and GREAt cause. To my disapointment this is the email I received....We regret to inform you that we will not be able to fulfill your order for a Crimson Britax Marathon CS. We know you have been waiting a long time for this seat and are incredibly sorry about this. Britax has discontinued this item but we were supposed to get one last shipment of them but just found out that due to an error, they oversold them and are not able to send us our order of Marathon CS's. We are so sorry about this. We do have a few "Emma" Marathon CS's that we could ship instead of the Crimson so if you would like one of these, please email me immediately. The first people who email me will get them and after those are gone, we will be 100% out of the Marathon CS. If you do not want an Emma or they are already sold out by the time you receive this, we will cancel your order and issue you a full refund immediately. Please write me back and let me know if you would prefer to receive an Emma Marathon CS or cancel your order. Unfortunately we are not able to send you a different seat (like the regular Marathon) instead because the wholesale cost of all the other seats is more than we were selling the Marathon CS for. Britax discontinued the Marathon CS and offered to them for a very low close out price so we are able to pass that savings on to our customers. We are not receiving that same low price on any other seat, so to send you a different seat would actually cost us quite a bit of money. As a small, mom-owned company we just can't afford to do this. I wish we could. I wish I had seen these comments on Hip Monkey before. I placed an order on 1/16/2010 and STILL have not received my order. While I received one response to an email requesting information on the order, all others have been left unanswered. I'm an expecting mother and gave plenty of leeway (so I thought) between the purchase and actual due date. Where is my order, and more importantly, why has this company not bothered to answer repeated requests for more information?! I, too, have been charged for a seat that has not been arrived.

I had ordered the Britax Frontier car seat for my daughter who will be turning 3 in April on January 1st. Our family had an upcoming road trip (11 hours) and thought it would benefit all involved. Hip Monkey seem to offer the best prices and their website did indicate that they ship orders within 24 hours. So I thought it would arrive in plenty of time since our trip was 3 weeks away. Serveral days after my order had been placed, I was notified that the item was out of stock. I would not have placed this order if I had known there would be any type of delay. On January 7 , and again on January 11. I tried to reach Hip Monkey via fax and phone. I even tried to locate a number from the address listed on their order confirmation. Information had no such listing of a Hip Monkey in Amirillo, TX. Because of this, I became suspicious and cancelled the credit card charge with my bank. With my trip now days away, and still no word from Hip Monkey, I had no choice but to purchase the car seat elsewhere. Upon returning from my trip sitting in front of the doorway several weeks later and 279.99 dollars too late, yes the Britax Car Seat. WHAT A Mess! Now they want me to request a "Charge Back" with my bank. No Way Jose! I can't afford to sit and wait until they process the return. That money is no longer available. Unfortunately, I have no alternative but to pay the $35.00 return shipping fee and be subjected to " I told you so " from my husband.

I unfortunately was not able to do business with hipmonkey. I love the cause, and am truly sorry and heartbroken for Christine's loss. HipMonkey does have the best prices, but when you need a car seat within the next 2 weeks, you can't afford to wait so long. Christine, I understand that backorders from the manufacturers are out of your control, but please, list that information on the website. Consumers depend on the information provided if an item is not in stock. It needs to say it is not in stock, or is backordered, so people can make more informed decisions. Also, when your money is taken out immediately for an item, you are under the impression that it is actually in stock. Most places don't take the money out until it is shipped. If it wasn't for those 2 things mentioned above (not informing consumers of an out of stock item on the website, and taking money out even when item is not in stock)I would have been able to complete my order. Unfortunately, I have to ask for an immediate refund now. For my son's safety, I can't afford to wait 2 more weeks on top of the 2 weeks I was originally told to get my car seat.

I'm very sorry to anyone who hasn't had a great experience shopping with Hip Monkey. We always strive to give excellent customer service. I'd like to mention that we always notify everyone immediately if they ordered something that is not in stock. Unfortunately one of our main manufacturers has been experiencing major back-orders recently that are completely out of our control. This is what has led to the delay in some customers receiving their orders and this string of negative comments. We always ship in-stock orders out within 24 hours and will notify you immediately if your order is not in stock.
We are a small company run by 2 full time moms. We give 110% and do everything in our power to keep our customers happy, help them with advise if needed and get them their product quickly. By shopping with us you are choosing to support fellow moms, not a huge corporation, a great cause and get the best price. :)

I ordered the Britax Advocate on Dec. 5th and still have not received it. They sent me an email first stating that they were out of the color and it would take about 2 weeks. So I waited and still no shipping confirmation so I contacted them again a few times and every time its on backorder and itll be 2 more weeks. I contacted them today and she said they should be there later on this week. I just went ahead and requested a full refund and hopefully that doesnt take as long as the shipping! Right now my son is stuck with no carseat and therefore we cannot go anywhere bc I cant afford another 300 until I get my refund. I would have rather spent the extra $100 and got this when I needed it rather then have to wait and wait, and deal with this mess! DO NOT SHOP FROM HIPMONKEY.COM

i have a very similar complaint about Hip Monkey...I was immediately charged for a Britax car seat that they did not have in stock and was only notified about the delay several days later. their website should have been updated b/c i would have never ordered the seat, but apparently this isn't a practice they follow. they have great prices, but some deals are too good to be true. i will be requesting a refund! disappointing

I unfortunately had a bad experience with HipMonkey. I ordered a Britax advocate CS car seat. My credit card was charged immediately then a day later I received an email stating that the car seat was not in stock and it was expected in approximately two weeks. This was unacceptable to me. I needed the car seat within 10 days and their website never states the items availability. Ever other website I have ever dealt with states if the item is backordered or out of stock. People rely on this information when ordering. There is no phone number listed on their website and the phone numbers I found listed on the web are out of service. One positive is that they did refund my purchase promply although they never offered an apology or explanation for the misleading information.

Like others the payment was taken from my account and the carseat was not sent. I also continue to get no answer when I call and leave messages and when I did get one email back from this Marie Parker person all I get is "Sunshine Kids has delayed shipping and I do not know when the order will be shipped." Considering this I want my money refunded immediately. This is completely unacceptable as I am going to be bring an infant home in less then 2 weeks and have no seat to put it in. With customer service like this I'm unsure how you have reached such a high ranking.

I purchased two Radian65 at the end of August.. and have not received them. I have been charged already for the seats too. I call Marie Parker from hipmonkey (877-445-5163) and have received e-mail after e-mail about the issue that there are delays. Delays happen.. but we're approaching November soon.. and this is ridiculous that we had to wait this long.. especially when the website says availability date of 9/30.
side note.. supporting the kdm foundation is a good thing.. but not receiving the product in a timing fashion feels like we're getting ripped off.

No reply to email inquiries either. Don't like that we are unable to get tracking information for the order. We were charged last Wednesday so it should have been shipped at that time. Today is Thursday the following week, and we live in a major metropolis, Atlanta,GA.

I found that Hip Monkey offered the best deal on the pricey car seat I wanted to buy for my son. I had recently seen Kyle's video on YouTube, but didn't realize Hip Monkey was founded by his mom. I was thrilled to realize that I could get what I needed at a price I could afford while also supporting a great cause. I had a minor problem with my order (the color I chose was on back order and I didn't realize), and a customer service representative contacted me right away. She was extremely helpful and I loved the personal approach to customer service. I give Christine a lot of credit for turning such a tragic loss into a positive for herself and many many needy families. By offering the best prices, she also enables families with modest incomes (like mine) to afford quality products. Thanks again so much, we were so touched by your story my almost 6 yr old 50 lb boy is still harnessed in a frontier we purchased from you. I do have another in my Mother in law's car and in my husband's truck we put the sunshine kids Monterey (also purchased from you) He rides in that one the least so we are ok with him being in such a very safe booster at his height and weight. He could ride in this fulltime, but he rides in the harnessed seats fulltime and the booster only on occasion.
We are so very grateful for your story, your website and the awareness that you have brought to parents. I wish I could get through to others, and trust me I've tried. Unfortunately I am one of the few parents that hold up the carpool line at kindergarten due to the extra steps getting in and out of a harness. Some eye roll, but I just smile back..knowing my son is safe..:) thank you :)

Dealing with Christine Miller's company, Hip Monkey, Inc. has provided me with the educational information I needed to purchase my 4 year's car seat. Her employees answered my phone call immediately and walked me through my top 2 choices of car seats. I had a concern about the recall of a particular model and the employee knew all about it and assured me that my car seat would be dated after the recall date. Guess what, she was correct. The car seat was manufactured Dec. 2008. I bet no big store can guarantee that!!!!!! The car seat was sent out the day I placed the order on the internet. The employee that had taken my phone call then followed it up with a check-up phone call to my home and sent e-mails to confirm that my product had been sent. I can not thank Christine and her company enough for being the best at customer service, their delivery time, and knowledge about the car seat industry. Terrific and trustworthy!!!!!
