So as my best friend (who happens to be my husband) and I have been in business together for nearly a decade, we have developed some habits that don`t always quite fit the norm of married life.

Some folks argue about chores, money, kids, etc...we are more likely to spend time justifying our postion to one another in full corporate prose why each should be the CEO today.

Anyway, when the kids are settled into bed and the dishes are done and the dog is in and the cats are out and the house is quiet, we can be found in the garage, our nightly ritutal of discussion underway. Business is usually the start of conversation, ideas, strategies, and open ears to the days events. If we sip some wine, we might talk about the universe, our purpose here, the hum of life and all...

But lately it seems, since I have been so enrapt in my passion for GreenBeans, that when my husband speaks, I hear music. No matter the subject, it could be a trivial matter, but when we settle into the night"s discussions, I talk, he talks and I hear music.

Through the music, I start to write, ideas, thoughts, plans LOTS of things. He is talking on and on, and I am obviously mustering a response that at least SEEMS like I am paying attention, but all the while his words trail off into a beautiful song, and I am inspired, and so I write.

He is catching on now, and has banned the notebook from the garage, but it has always been a staple, and besides...I know his weaknesses...

So I guess that makes him my muse, as I have been hearing his music, but I am wondering, am I totally cukoo, or does anyone else hear music?

I can relate. I can become so focused on my projects and new enhancements for them that everything here at home gets blocked out. I can`t seem to stop, i work from early am until late in the evening and since i still want to talk about business i find myself here alot instead of talking about whatever my husband wants to. I guess that means we are passionate about what we are doing and where our projects are headed...it is a good thing but maybe a bit unbalanced, atleast her at my house. I get bored easily if i am not working and creating and since my husband runs his own business he is all consumed in his trade and really is not very interested in mine all that much. So to continue talking "business" but relax, i come here with likeminded folks. After things wind down here with work (if they ever do) i plan on creating a more balanced routine. I feel bad sometimes, get the looks from my husband once in a while.... right now i am typing looking at this screen and he is watching TV....usually what we do. There is a new gym opening up here in town and myself, my daughter (4) and my husband Chad will join so that we can create time away from work together and get in shape. All this computer working has not helped my looks this past year. Anyway....you are creating a really neat business, just built your new web site...you are excited and the balls are rolling...so stay excited, get those ideas going, test and implement. After a while you can  make time to just learn to relax and enjoy and shut off at certain points. I know i have to. :) But no, you are not alone, just excited about where you are going and how wonderful it is to be building a business you are so passionate about!!

I`m certifiably nuts AND a musician, and yes: you`re crazy. No, it`s not normal.

Feel better?

(No, no...there`s no charge...please...oh, I couldn`t...well, perhaps just $100...but really...it was my pleasure....)

Yes, I take personal checks. No need for an ID, I trust you................. :-) I trust EVERYbody. Particularly if they have a personal voucher on the Internet. If it`s on the Web, it`s true.

All;

my question is, is it normal for customers to repeat purchase rapid fire, serial style?

the example is this (I`ve had several customers do this) first they buy one item (everything I sell, I make, so they need to order what they want), when they come to pick-up or when I deliver they order something more, and so on, several have made as many as 4 serial purchases.

not having any retail experience, can I assume the customers are uncertain, or do they just order that way.

I`d like to understand this a little better so I might manage my schedule a little better.

any comments?

outdoor furnishings, they start with a chair or two, then picnic table, then a garden swing, then a porch swing, some even start buying stuff (one at a time) for their adult kids.

well in that case it makes sense. When you buy outdoor stuff at least me, I want the full set, not a chair or just a table. They probably are slightly skeptical until they see the quality and craftsmanship, once they realize its good, they instantly want more. Although I would think they wouldn`t buy a piece at a time. To reduce your work with orders I would suggest making a package deal so they simply buy all the pieces they want up front to save money, which in turn will save you some time.

I think tikki50 nailed this one on the head, especially for first time buyers of your product.  They probably just want to see the product first hand before they dish out the money for the entire set.  Package deals or multiple item discounts may help you too.

Either way, repeat buying or package buying, you`re moving product and that is always a plus :)
