While there are reputable invention companies out their, I am afraid many are just scammers. Identifying a reputable company is where the problem comes.
I would suggest contacting potential manufacturers for your product first. Let the manufacturer suggest a source for instance, designers or prototypers. They should have experience as to who is legit and who is not.
