I have an idea for a new computer game, think WarCraft. It is a new idea that matches with the times and I will be marketing it to kids 6-13. How do I go about bringing it to life, where do you find people that design games from others ideas?

you would have to pitch your idea to places like Blizzard or if your lucky find about 30 good programmers, marketers, data base designers, graphic artist and so on. The game warcraft you are talking about has a staff of over 70 programmers that work on it and it takes years to write all the code and do all the graphics,  Not trying to say you can`t do this just understand there is alot more to it then most people think. Good luck on your venture.

Hello Ieez,
Warcraft has several games under its title, including standalone games, expansions, board and card games, and also an MMORPG (Massive Multy Online Role Playing Game).
So which one are you referring to? :-)
Keep in mind that an MMO takes years to develop, even for a full staff, and it still has a lot of fall backs.
An RTS (Real Time Strategy) game such as Warcraft 1-3 also takes quite some time to develop, and it sure does make less money.
Also, for your consideration, there is a growing in software privacy, and no real effective way to stop it

I suggest you do your research thoroughly before starting such a project

Thanks for your input, I guess it is a lot more difficult than I realized.  Could I just market or sell my concept, do places like Blizzard work with people that have new ideas for games?  How do I protect my ideas while letting them know what I am thinking?

to be honost I have never heard of Blizzard taking on a job from some one elses idea. Most of these companies started with collage friends that got together and started there companies based on a couple of game ideas. By what I can see is they realy do not stray from what works for them. Look at blizzard and the game world of warcraft. They have over 10,000,000 online users paying 14.95 per month for there accounts. Thats thats 1,794,000,000.00 per year give or take a couple of hundred million. You have to ask yourself. Does your game concept invoke those kind of figures for a company like that? I`m not saying you can`t do this but I guess what I am saying is you would be better off looking at walmart. Seeing some of the cheaper games that sell there like dear hunter or something and maybe approach those companies, Bungie games and Blizzard already have games that make them more money then most will ever see in there life time.
