Products include digital voice recorders, headphones, microphones, disc repair kits, stereos and boomboxes, briefcases and laptop cases. Established in 2003, we began by specializing as a journalism equipment and supply resource, hence the name 'GoReporter'. We have since expanded operations to include a few other categories and we now serve the general public as well.
We were a top 10 Boomer Back in Business for Start Up Nation in 2007 and since that time our business has almost doubled! As a successful and innovative baby boomer entrepreneur, I am now focused on giving back to my peers by mentoring those who would like to become independent business owners as well! I've been mentoring Michael and Karen just this past month - Michael is one of my customers and Karen is my son's Mom. Michael is looking for a way to build a business online selling wooden toys. Karen is currently unemployed, another baby boomer, and is hoping to start up jewelry business online before her unemployment runs out!
Start Up Nation is responsible for getting me to think of mentoring people in my area of expertise, online retail. I've received several phone calls as a direct result of my Top 10 Start Up Nation Baby Boomer award in 2007, from people wishing to congratulate me and to ask how I did it. I've told them Start Up Nation is a great resource for anyone looking to start up a new business, and then I've offered time tested secrets to those who have asked for my advice. It's such a joy to be able to teach others how to become independent.
