Contestant's Case to Win
This is based on the number of votes received and does not reflect the quality of the business.Snoloha was the 2007 Most-Slacker Friendly business. One year later, the brand has grown throughout the country and into Europe...all from a home-office in Traverse City, Michigan. The connection that people have to the Snoloha brand is the reason I am entering again. From one customer getting a Snoloha tattoo on her foot to the overwhelming amount of emails from people that relate to the lifestyle and that have thanked me for helping them "escape" from the daily grind of everyday life. Heck, one customer even created a Snoloha drink at the beach bar he works at! These connections have created an inherent responsibility for me to enter this brand (my baby) into the contest again. And responsibility is not a word that slackers are fond of!
I guess I should mention that a typical work day for Snoloha means sporting flip flops and a t-shirt, listening to Radio Margaritaville, working with surf shops, ski shops, snowboard shops, and resorts, taking the laptop out on the patio and utilizing the tiki bar as a desk, cutting out early to go sailing and half-day Fridays to hit the beach...with a couple of cold ones. I'm tired just writing all that...maybe it's time to cut out early for the day!?
The concept behind Snoloha is to combine the various climates, activities, and elements that we all experience in life into one brand, one image, and one word – hence the marriage of “snow” and “aloha”. The definition of Snoloha is “A lifestyle shared by those who live, play, travel, vacation, relax, or simply enjoy life somewhere between the islands and the arctic.”
It is both a physical location and a mental state of mind. Whether you are halfway around the world visiting a foreign land, or sitting in your cubicle wishing you were somewhere else, island-hopping in the Caribbean or heli-skiing in Alaska, Snoloha is that place where you feel relaxed, inspired, or energized.
It is a lifestyle people live everyday, a couple times a year, once in a lifetime, or in their minds all the time. It’s carrying a vacation mentality through everyday life, celebrating and enjoying all the seasons that get thrown at us.
