I left my job in 2007, fed up with the low pay, high turnover rate and job insecurity that I had been facing for the past four years, and decided the only way to be sure of my future was to work for myself. As the economy has plummeted, conversely, my freelance business has become more and more successful. I just celebrated my first year in business with my highest earnings since I started. I hope to expand within the next couple of years.

In addition, working for myself has given me time to pursue being a professional artist, and as a result, I now am booked for solo and group art shows for the next year.
