Contestant's Case to Win

Mini Me Geology (a division of Giverny, Inc.) was started from an idea that I had while visiting my son’s kindergarten class during Parent’s Week. The children were thrilled to see the rocks and minerals that I had brought for them from my job as a geologist. Because of their enthusiastic response, I set out to purchase the perfect rock kit for my own children but could not find what I had in mind. Therefore, I set out to create my own kits that have the samples and information that kids and parents want.

Today, Mini Me Geology offers two lines of rock and mineral kits, individual rock and minerals samples, and collections and accessories for schools. Our My Rockin’ Collection line is our deluxe set of kits which come in four types: Minerals, Igneous Rocks, Metamorphic Rocks and Sedimentary Rocks. Our newest line, the Rock Detectives, has six kits called Mineral Mission, Igneous Investigation, Sedimentary Sleuthing, Metamorphic Mystery, Crystal Geometry and Crystal Experiment.

We also provide free educational support to children, parents, teachers and homeschool families through our website (www.MiniMeGeology.com). Our “Dig Into Geology” section is full of articles about each rock and mineral kit and a variety of geology topics, downloadable rock and mineral identification charts and word puzzles, as well as project and experiment ideas that can be performed at home or school. Our “Ask-a-Geologist” feature has been a hit because children are able to send us their questions and have them answered on our website, newsletter and blog.

We think Mini Me Geology is truly unique because we are the only company to focus on elementary-aged children with our products while providing unlimited resources on geology to children, parents, elementary teachers and home-school families.
