The voting phase has ended. Winners will be announced mid-November.
I'm already a winner. The decision to create a home based business has given me the freedom to do what I do best (customer-focused writing) when I want (that is the "slacker" component) and be there for my family when they need me most.
After over 25 years rising through the ranks in the corporate world from store manager to field management to director of stores at Pearle Vision and then Director of Communications for all of the optical chains owned by Cole National, I was faced with a fork in the road. Move one more time and work for the new company owners or strike out on my own and leave the office politics and water-cooler gossip behind. I would say that I've taken the road less traveled and yet look at how many of us have chosen the home based business path. In 2004 I began my business, AllWrite Ink part time while still with Cole and then in February of 2005 opened my doors full time and haven't looked back since. As a freelance writer, I work hard for my customers crafting communications that get their message across in a way that truly reaches their target audience. As a motivational speaker I bring my two decades of experience in retail, operations and communications to my audiences with a focus on EARNING customer loyalty and making the most of their online presence. I would be honored to be considered one of the 100 winning home based business owners. Thanks so much,Deborah Chaddock Brown
