Contestant's Case to Win

iSyndica's team includes three of the key technology guys involved in the startup success of Boston's VistaPrint.com -- now an ecommerce leader with 20 million customers in over 120 countries. One of them (iSyndica's CTO) co-authored 14 VistaPrint patents.

Founded in early 2009, in the middle of the biggest economic crisis in over 50 years, iSyndica's goal is to simplify online distribution of electronic content and physical products to multiple websites: "Upload Once - Sell Everywhere!"

In January, we authored and filed our USPTO patent application: "Centralized ecommerce sales data distribution system and service". In just a few short months we developed and released our first service, iSyndica Photos, which already supports over 30 channels, in multiple categories (stock photos, pro video, illustrations and vectors). The service was recently described as "the ultimate microstock utility" by a leading photography blog.

iSyndica's innovative syndication platform is based on Amazon Web Services (AWS) a market-leading cloud computing infrastructure. AWS enabled iSyndica to roll out its first application within 4 months, and maintain an impressive 3 week upgrade cycle. Customer acquisition and revenue has been driven by our extensive use of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, CrunchBase, YouTube, our Cloud Blog, and other social media. Customer numbers have grown over 100% per month, since launch in May. And, in August, customer revenues exceeded our total Amazon virtual data center costs, for the first time.

iSyndica's early promise was recognized by StartupNation: we were chosen as a winner of this year's Elevator Pitch Competition... and our video was then featured on Richard Branson's PitchTV on Virgin transatlantic flights. Subsequently, our business plan was chosen by one of the world's top business schools, in the INSEAD Business Venture Challenge. The judges praised iSyndica for its "worldclass management team", "big market opportunity", and for operating "in the cloud", which is "high on the hitlist of VCs".

Today, we're much more than an exciting concept: we have a working service, with customers and revenue. And further development is underway for both our consumer syndication (Flickr, Picasa, Facebook, Twitter, etc) and product distribution (Ebay, Amazon, Yahoo Stores, Taobao, etc) offerings.
