The Backyard Getaway is a family owned and operated service and retail pond & water garden business that grew from a hobby into a passion. Over 14 years ago Dave got the pond "bug" when he purchased his first pond kit. It didn't take long before he & Lisa were digging a second pond & helping friends & family create their own backyard retreats. Before we knew it the Backyard Getaway was born. There is nothing we enjoy more than being able to help our customers add the peace and tranquility of flowing water to their backyard with a unique wildlife habitat. We offer professional & personalized water garden & pond design, installation & pond maintenance services as well as online sales of pond supplies & equipment. We want our customers to know that they are our like family to us that is why we try to come up with innovative ways to help them. For example, we offer local delivery, free pond classes covering everything from pond maintenance to a hands on pond build, a free pond club, our own online social network, a yearly charity pond tour & new this year our $16,000 Ultimate backyard makeover contest. The backyard makeover contest is a collaboration that we started with 17 local companies including ourselves who are donating goods & services to create a fabulous backyard getaway to one lucky homeowner in Sarasota or Manatee county Florida.
