I own & operate The Welcome Committee, Inc., (since 1999), a newcomer greeting service that pairs up new consumers with local business & professional services in the community. In 2006, I finally launched a website (www.TheWelcomeCommittee.net). It was intended to be a local informational site. I was surprised to receive calls and emails from folks all over the country requesting to purchase my Welcome Committee "franchise." I researched the industry and discovered that there were no "How To" books for the Welcome Service business model. I put my Journalism degree to work, appointing myself pioneer of the Welcome Service industry, and wrote, "Home-Based Business: The Complete Guide to Owning and Operating a Successful Welcome Service Business." The Welcome Committee, Inc. has been operating successfully in four counties in the Charlotte, NC region for just over a decade, so I knew my business model could be replicated in growing communities throughout the world. (As long as people relocate...there will always be a need for this service). Since publishing my book in 2006, I have helped others launch Welcome Service Businesses throughout North America, Australia & South Africa and I look forward to many more.
