StartupNation Judges' Synopsis

Young April Femrite's Naturally Bamboo is our Runner Up (#2) in the Greenest category. She manufactures clothing and accessories made from bamboo fiber, which is one of the most sustainable natural fibers on earth grown without pesticides. The uniqueness of bamboo being a natural fiber combined with its performance properties makes an ideal fabric for active wear.
The mission of Naturally Bamboo is to offer comfortable and functional apparel made in an ethical fashion. Femrite's company is setting an example of sustainability, promoting social justice in the garment industry. Fabric dyes are low-impact reactive dyes - the least harmful dyes available on the market. Minimal packaging with recycled content is used for all shipping and office supplies. Her office headquarters is run by wind energy and is soon to use bamboo plantings as carbon off-sets to make them a carbon NEGATIVE company.

They are also a fair trade company. Bamboo, if you weren't aware, is rapidly renewable and can grow over a foot a day, not to mention it produces 35% more oxygen that an equivalent stand of trees
