My wife and I were having our first child when I was leaving active duty with the Army. We were able to save a lot of money on daycare, by trading care with several friends. My wife had the idea of setting up a website that would help parents find partners for cooperative childcare arrangements. It's taken us a few tries, and a lot of effort, but if we can start a business while transitioning careers, serving the the Army reserves, and attending grad school at night, anyone can! Our site was recently featured on our local NBC affiliate, and we are starting to get more traffic from across the US. We believe our product to be unique in its ability to save parents $500-$800 not once, but month after month. Most traditional daycares require a minimum of three days a week, negating the income from working part time. DaycareTrade.com is a win-win solution for everyone.
We are working to develop our user base first, before we can ethically charge for the service, and publicity from Startup Nation would be priceless. We've both been fans of Startup Nation for a long time, and have found the advice and resources very helpful. Thanks for considering us, we really appreciate it!
