Contestant's Case to Win

Before there was Brendita’s Body Works LLC, there was “Brendita” also known as PhatGirlSlim to many at Allure’s forum community. The company grew out of that social network and has recently expanded to others. For quite some time, Brendita had been making her own natural skin care products. But after countless threads, responses to posts, advice and jokes, Brendita decided that she could provide her community with better, healthier and more honest products than those which many of the ladies (and a few men) were complaining about on the forums. Basically, that is how the business was born.

I decided to enter Brendita’s Body Works into this competition. I am Cas, Brendita’s husband, her business partner as well as her web developer and shipping boy. We are positively the best example of the idea that "small is the new big"!

Our business is growing organically and I am not just referring to our products. What I mean is that it has grown out of the exact type of community that many businesses are constantly trying to tap into. We owe our success to referrals and word of mouth.

Brendita has a passion for skin care and how naturally derived, plant based ingredients can nourish, protect and rejuvenate our body, from head to toe. She is also a “maven” who takes delight in sharing her experiences and knowledge on health, exercise and skin care. Having been a personal trainer, an exercise instructor and most recently, an entrepreneur, she has a unique perspective that is both personal and professional.

Her skin and hair care products are completely free of harsh chemicals such as parabens, petroleum and sulfates. She uses safe, gentle herbal extracts and organic essential oils ad preservatives. She also abides by very strict principles and protocols regarding the companies from which we purchase the ingredients we use.

As her husband and partner, I could go on and on about why she should win this competition. But I cannot praise her any more than her customers do.
