I got the idea for my business by literally looking in the mirror. I invented two products – the ShavWet Shower Mirror and Ultimate ShavWet Cream.
I chose to invent a “man mirror” because I shaved in the shower and didn’t really like any of the few mirrors on the market. None of them were really designed from scratch to be used in the shower. Then, it clicked. No company had yet branded itself in the shower shaving market. The next morning as I was shaving, I came up with the concept of ShavWet brand of products.The ShavWet Shower Mirror is hand-held, portable, fog-free and specifically designed for use in the shower. The unique product does NOT have to be mounted to a wall like most shower mirrors on the market. It is ergonomically shaped and fits perfectly into the right or left hand -- and is conveniently sized for use at home and on the road. The Ultimate ShavWet Cream was, like the mirror, specifically designed for the shower. It’s my belief that shaving in the shower is not only a better shave – it’s better for the environment. Our research shows that the average household sends 1,896 gallons of water down the drain each year – just by shaving.I believe I should be considered a Home-Based 100 winner for several reasons; it’s the perfect time for the little guy to take on the big corporate brands, this bad economy is once again going to be rebuilt by people who are willing to take risks and challenge “the big boys,” and I want to succeed so that I can teach others how to compete and succeed in a new and changing world economy. I believe that innovation and entrepreneurship are the hopes of a new American economy.
