Business Industrial Network started out as an industrial training company with a plan to be green, back when green was not so popular. Back then that primarily meant less paper more electronic communication. That initiative also led the company to almost entirely Internet Marketing only. As the company grew, Feed Forward Publications was purchased and merged. But we couldn't very well add books to our offerings with a green initiative. So we now have over 100 different training products, all digital. (Ebooks, Software Downloads, CDs and On-Line training)
The above decisions also resulted in a higher profit margin than most businesses see. Less paper, books and shipping, result in less overhead. The internet marketing instead large carbon footprint news papers and magazines, also resulted in less cost. We pass on the savings on to our customers, keeping our products the lowest cost in the world. This in turn helped us survive the recession and we like to think helped our customers too.So in summary, the green friendly digital training material we sell has complimented our core business of delivering on-site industrial training to customers. And we learned that non-internet marketing has a big carbon footprint and cost associated with it.
