After working in the beauty industry for 13 years as a rep for a major beauty product manufacturer and spending my 10 - 12 hour days preaching the concept of "work smarter, not harder", I was suffering major burnout. Here I was spending all of my time implementing systems meant to maximize efficiency, productivity and profitability for my customers, yet somehow the smarter they worked the harder I worked. I had a stand in for everything that really mattered to me - my family, my pets and my home. I paid someone to walk my 4 dogs. I had a live in care giver for my 72 year old father suffering with Alzheimer's & Diabetes. I paid someone to clean my beautiful home that I never spent time in unless my eyes were closed. My salon customers adored the idea and each of them was more than happy to participate in the development and testing of our service. How slacker is that? I managed to get paid to quit my job, keep my customers and develop what would someday be my own! That was 3 years ago and in March 2008, I was able to negotiate a deal that allowed me to quit my job AGAIN, keep my customers and become the OWNER of ConfirmTextSalon.com.
