Do less. Save more. Consider it done. That's our motto at ConfirmTextSalon.com. After working in the beauty industry for 13 years as a rep for a major beauty product manufacturer and spending my 10 - 12 hour days preaching the concept of "work smarter, not harder", I was suffering major burnout. Here I was spending all of my time implementing systems meant to maximize efficiency, productivity and profitability for my customers, yet somehow the smarter they worked the harder I worked. I had a stand in for everything that really mattered to me - my family, my pets and my home. I paid someone to walk my 4 dogs. I had a live in care giver for my 72 year old father suffering with Alzheimer's & Diabetes. I paid someone to clean my beautiful home that I never spent time in unless my eyes were closed. I paid lots of money for others to be me.
Something was seriously wrong with this picture. How could working in an industry I loved so much be so far out of line with my vision for my life? It was time to bring a little "work smarter, not harder" to the business that really mattered to me – my life. I just had to figure out how.
What needed fixing in the beauty industry, how could I fix it AND fix my life? Suddenly it came to me - salons and spas have been held hostage for years by no-shows, late cancellations and making the dreaded daily confirmation calls. This time and labor intensive task takes 90 seconds per call and 80% of these calls go to voice mail. This job is HANDS DOWN the least favorite of any person who has ever worked the front desk in a salon or spa. What we had here was a whole lotta hard and not a lotta smart! There had to be a better way. It had to be affordable (RECESSION BUSTER). It had to be easy to use (SLACKER FRIENDLY). It had to produce results(RECESSION BUSTER).

Some Things Are Just Meant To Be. I was able to partner locally with a technology provider that loved the idea. He even paid me to develop the services! My salon customers adored the idea and each of them was more than happy to participate in the development and testing of our service. How slacker is that? I managed to get paid to quit my job, keep my customers and develop what would someday be my own! That was 3 years ago and in March 2008, I was able to negotiate a deal that allowed me to quit my job AGAIN, keep my customers and become the OWNER of ConfirmTextSalon.com. My vision of a good life is the life I'm living. I WORK (as little as possible) FROM HOME.
