This husband-and-wife teamâhe from France and she from Wilmington, North Carolinaâdecided to trade in their high-powered New York City lifestyle for a pink house in the South and a business that would celebrate their very different upbringings. They moved into an old luncheonette, coverting it into their residence and workplace, with a kitchen big enough to make and ship their tasty bon bons all over the country. There's even enough room to hold gourmet cooking parties for local chocolate lovers.
They created South ân France and hand-dipped their first 16,000 bonbons in just one month, debuting at the North Carolina Chocolate Festival. Seven months later, they won Best New Chocolate Product at the 114th Philadelphia National Candy, Gift and Gourmet Show. Since then, theyâve been rolling the business and the bon bons right alongâŚ
