About the Winner
Another winner from 2007 Douglas Knippel's Northwest Redworms harvest redworms for composting. He's found a fancier description of his business since winning this Top Ten category last year: an organic debris recycling center.
But alas we know how to read between the lines Doug! His world is filled with mother nature's finest. Rain (which comes with worm poop muck) or shine (when flies multiply out of control) Northwest Redworms composts tons of organic debris.
Redworms actually do most of the heavy lifting with all the other micro and macro organisms work together in breaking down the smelly unwanted debris into a concentrated fertilizer that works better than any chemically produced soil additive.
As the compost managers Knippel's team gets up close and personal with the mounds of redworms to ensure proper temperature moisture PH and food availability for the slithering workers.
