Hands down, RentaWomb.org is our winner for the Top Ten Wackiest category. The wackiness is not so much the idea of surrogacy. It's more the idea of outsourcing your pregnancy from the U.S. to India.

The Chicago-based entrepreneur behind the business is Benhur Samson, and he's proud to rent wombs in India at a lower cost than possible within the U.S.

How much lower you ask? Surrogacy here costs around $100,000. He's able to get it done for one-third the cost using state of the art IVF technology in India. Looking deeper, though, would you really offshore your pregnancy?

And what if you also had to deal with an offshore customer service toll-free help line in the process? And what about those sticky issues like citizenship of the baby? Just a few minor things to think through for Samson. But we appreciate and applaud the wackiness very much.
