About the Winner
Boulder Coloradoan Robyn Crispe has wormed her way into the Top Ten Greenest. Her company, Nomad Needles, makes the Worm Inn a composting system for people who live in urban areas without greenspace available to them. Crispe was concerned about her own volume of food waste, which she couldn't compost outdoors at her condo. After searching online for indoor composting ideas, she came across vermicomposting, also known as worm composting. Thus was born the Worm Inn, designed for people who cannot compost outdoors but are interested in composting as a way to conserve resources and keep extraneous food waste out of landfills. It is a great indoor composting system including top and bottom ventilation openings. She claims that with proper waste deposit, there is no odor with her system. Food waste is a huge landfill contributor and doesn't need to be. Crispe's Worm Inn inches us toward a solution.
