About the Winner

Andrea Higham is mom and CEO of a green family business that includes Bailey (age 10) and Mairen (age 8). Their flagship clothing brand is Pooka, an entirely eco-friendly children's clothing line that's actually designed by children themselves. They offer artistic and innovative clothing that is both earth-friendly and socially conscious. They earned the Seal of Approval from Co-op America for their commitment to people and planet. Their clothing is 100% organic cotton, low-impact dyed and phthalate and pvc free. By having all clothing manufactured in the USA, they've drastically reduced their carbon-footprint and helped to promote fair labor practices. All of their printed materials (order forms, hangtags, catalogs, etc.) are printed on recycled paper with soy-based inks. They recycle and reuse as much of their packaging boxes as possible. They donate a portion of their profits to non-profit groups and sponsor and are involved with local events that promote the education of children in art and ecology.
