In 2007, Zosimos Botanicals studio utilized 8,640 kilowatt hours of wind energy, the equivalent of eliminating 6 metric tons of CO2 emissions. Further, their products are handcrafted in small batches using gentle, plant-based raw materials.
Zosimos is a signatory to the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics, a member of Co-op America, the PETA Caring Consumer Program, and the Green Products Alliance. They provide an alternative to mass-produced cosmetics with no synthetic chemicals such as parabens.
Zosimos Botanicals contracts only vendor suppliers that use sustainable harvesting practices, grow pesticide-free plants, and produce Certified Organic ingredients. Their entire product line is ranked by the Environmental Working Group as posing the lowest hazard in the Skin Deep Database. No animal testing is performed by them or their suppliers, a fact recognized by PETA through admission into its Caring Consumer Program.
The studio utilizes entirely reused furniture, fixtures and equipment obtained through the Freecycle network. To top it off, Zosimos Botanicals annually supports the Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary, which rescues abused farm animals.
