From one bride to the next, NextBrides is an online marketplace to buy, sell or rent new and pre-owned wedding gowns and related-items. Inspired from my personal experience as a former bride, I borrowed wedding items from one of my friends during her wedding and soon after two more friends borrowed items from my wedding, and voila, thus began the origin of my trademark phrase "from one bride to the next.” And, after researching the bridal gown purchase experience, I learned that at least 90% of all brides conducted most wedding planning and wedding-related shopping from wedding gowns to wedding favors online.
Fueled by a passion for weddings, an entrepreneur's dream and a two-year old business idea, I exchanged my job layoff (after returning to work from maternity leave) for opportunity and set my sights on creating NextBrides. Remembering that my wedding goal was to find the best deals without breaking the bank, my business would do the same and enable other future brides to find their dream wedding gown from former brides at a fair price.
With a clear vision to offer brides a cost-conscious alternative to the in-store shopping experience, NextBrides was born. The business concept was simple--create a consumer-to-consumer online bridal exchange for cost-conscious brides-to-be while helping former brides earn some of their wedding dollars back by selling or renting their bridal gowns. Forward-looking, NextBrides would become the premier bridal listing website that connects new and former brides together along with different wedding vendors and small wedding businesses for a credible bridal e-shopping experience. Fast forward two years, and now, I am proud to say that my vision is in motion.
