When Kaitlyn Lockman founded Zen Society she wanted to be different, she wanted to create a line that was gluten free, extremely pure, and had no preservatives. With her Master Herbalist background this was easy. She learned ways to heal through holistic, simple treatments and applied this theory to her formulas. Zen Society specifically appeals to people with sensitive skin or for those who want a line that is safe for the whole family. To an Herbalist, 100% natural means no fragrances, no preservatives, and no chemicals. It means the products will smell like the oils and extracts that they are made of, not synthetic fragrances. Zen Society is certified cruelty free and Vegan by PETA, and a proud signer of The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics and The Natural Pledge. Our goal is to foster a world free of chemicals and toxins and to promote overall well-being. Not only do we care about offering Natural and Organic products, but we place a huge emphasis on overall wellness, nutrition and giving back by helping to save the environment. A percent of every sale is donated to Friends of the Earth, the world's largest grassroots foundation (www.foe.org). We use environmentally friendly packaging that is 100% recyclable. Our bottles are PET and are BPA free. They are tested to ensure there is no release of phthalates, chemicals or carcinogens. We do not use any excess packaging or product boxes to help save trees. Our shipping boxes are made from 100% recycled material and we use starch-based packaging peanuts that are biodegradable and easily composted to prevent landfill waste streams. Our ingredients are all natural and/or USDA Certified Organic that are biodegradable so they do not pollute our soil or marine systems.
