About the Winner

I run a home based video production company. I was a video producer for 17 years in the Washington, DC, area and always dreamed of starting my own company. I opened the doors to my one-woman-shop on Feb 14, 2008, and I've been busy ever since. My clients include many local businesses including The Blumenthal Performing Arts Center Education Institute, The Exceptional Children's Activity Center, The Epiphany School of Charlotte. Shop.org, a non-profit association in Washington, DC., and The Yonkofa Project, a non-profit organization building a permanent medical clinic in Ghana, West Africa. I traveled to Ghana in April 2011 an am producing a documentary video for them and am also producing and directing a feaure-length documentary called "Concerto for Two Brothers" about two renowned classical musicians. The reason I should be chosen is that I am a prime example that a professional life can start at anytime. I turned 60 this February and my business is growing. I love working out of my house and think that home based businesses are the wave of the future. I know I'll still be going strong for at least another 20 years!
