Custom Spun Dog Hair Yarn is my business. Clients brush their dog and ship the hair to me. I wash the hair and when dry card it (comb it to align the fibers), spin it into yarn, take two yarns and spin them together to forma a 2-ply yarn, skein it and wash it. The client then has the option of having the yarn or requesting additional services such as having me weave it into a shawl or scarf or having me knit it into a hat. Spinning dog hair into yarn allows clients to have a unique one of a kind item out of a substance which is usually thrown away. Photo is of a Belgian Sheepdog hat.
