The idea of this innovative new product was conceived by Joseph W. Hartley the III while observing news footage of the devestating 2008 floods in Fargo, North Dakota. He put his idea into action and invented the SandMaster implement and created his company Barrier Systems LLC in July of 2010. The SandMaster attaches to a skid steer front end loader bucket or excavator and quickly fills, closes and secures, transports and places sandbags at or near the area of need. This is an ideal tool for flood prevention and control by drastically reducing the labor force and time needed to protect lives and property prior to and during flood events.
Barrier Systems LLC should be the winner of StartupNation 2011 most innovative catagory because of Joseph Hartley had a vision and in his shop at home brought that vision to life with the creation of the SandMaster implement. The final judgement of this innovative new product will be less in the time and cost savings the SanMaster provides but more in the countless lives and property that can be saved.
