It has always been a home-based business, and I hope it always will be. I find that this is a very practical and environmental way to do business. In the near future I hope to have a home/business that is solar powered.
Recycling, up-cycling and minimizing waste are part of my nature, or maybe my nurture. Everything we use is recycled/recyclable materials, or on at least its second use.
The Kasper Organics web site is hosted by a wind-powered company, Canvas Dreams. And we are now signed up for carbon neutral shipping! You can see the Green Shipping logo and verification on our front page.
We also use Energy Star computers, printers and appliances. We have switched to all compact fluorescent lighting, and have planted several trees around the apartment building where we live and work. We are centrally located in Van Nuys, CA, so car trips are minimized.
Besides selling the best organic cotton clothing I can find from other manufacturers, I make numerous items myself to fill a need, especially for those customers who are chemical sensitive and cannot find the purity they need elsewhere.
It is important to me that the clothing be affordable and practical. And I focus on the basics people need most: socks, underwear and tee shirts. But I offer much more than that.
My goal is to expand on what I am doing for people with chemical sensitivities, and others who desire organic cotton purity, by offering more products with my label.
Almost everything I sell has been made in the USA. Mostly from organic cotton that was grown here, as well. And I try to support other women-owned businesses.
