How much of your employment contract can you draft yourself?  You can keep much of it simple and use existing contracts that are provided as samples online to fill in the gaps.  Bringing in a lawyer for a quick 2-hour knockout punch session of proofreading may be more cost-effective in this manner.

another strategy I have used is call multiple lawers for the free hour consultation in the same day.. ie. 3 consultations = 3 hours of legal advice. I used this when I first started my company before I put a lawyer on retainer.
