I was wondering how do I get rights to stuff like lets say art.com has, how can I get the rights to the image to where i can use it and put it on whatever I want?

I`m a bit confused about what you are asking. Are you looking to have copyright protection on an image?

You would contact the artist or their representative agent and "license" the artwork. That would likely mean you would pay royalties or a licensing fee to the artist on a regular basis.

many times you can get around this by just dealing with art.com. they most likely will have the flexibility and authority to negotiate on behalf of the artists. in some exclusive cases they will have to redirect you. however they may be selfish and decide not to :-)

I`m not sure that art.com has the ability to do this, as it seems that they are a retailer and not a brokerage for licenses and royalties. Chances are the individual artists have granted art.com certain licenses, but that doesn`t mean they can negotiate on the artist`s behalf.

Finding any contact information on some of these artists seems difficult, so you might be able to get their contact information through contacting art.com, depending on the arrangement the artist and art.com have with each other.
