It`s loading slow, but not intolerably so.  There are two things you can do to speed up the loading: 1) Get rid of the flash slide show.  The browser has to load every slide before it stars, and it`s distracting.  Once loaded the slide show runs fine on all pages.  Put the slide show in your "About Us" page only.  2) Some of the product images are huge - over 75K in size.  Use Photoshop to turn them all into GIF thumbnails and reduce the number of colors to 16 or even 8.  If a customer clicks on a thumbnail, you can use the higher resolution photo when you describe the product.

I am curious - why no prices or ordering information?

Runs okay for me, on FireFox 1.x. Sure it cascades a bit, but that`s due to the pictures. However, the pictures are necessary and important. I could see, maybe, if you have a lot of dial-up customers it`d be very slow. But for DSL, it`s fine as far as I can see.

I took a look at your web site, and one of the things that I noticed is that is coded poorly.
This is the first time that I`ve seen someone use Chinese alphabet in their coding. That might be your major issue of why the web site is loading slowly.
The reason why I say that is because the browser may not understand the letters. I would suggest using english. If you are concerned that your customer`s won`t understand it, then you must enable asian countries support to your browser.

Also, I looked at your images... They look distorted some images are 500x600 pixels. What format are you using? jpeg, png, gif?
I would suggest for you to do some code cleaning. One of the major reasons why a web site won`t load fast is not only due to the images, it has to do with how your browser is trying to translate [parse] through the code. If it finds a coding problem it will automatically go into a loop, and although it might skip the syntax error, at times it will crash your browser and that`s when you get those, unexpected error messages and your browser shuts down.

Sinwon,
before you venture into Optimizing your web site, I would advise you to clean up your code. and make it SEF [search engine friendly] and user friendly. I don`t think you have to redesign or develop another web site, this one will do just right "Just clean it up".

If you`d like email directly and I can give you free consultation. I think as a store owner, if you want flash on your site, you should be able to have it. I don`t think one should be limited to what you can use and what you can`t on your web site but it all comes down to the coding. How your web site loads depends on your errors.

It does in fact load slow as all on Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox.  I would delete the flash slide show and any other items from a high intensive graphic standpoint that will slow down the loading of such site.

Alexis,
I don`t think it`s the flash movie though.. I think what the problem with his site is the chinese alphabet in his code. I think that the browser is looping trying to find a solution, until it jumps out of the loop to the next line of code.
Remember in Programming there`s the syntax errors that crash your system, and then you have the non-syntax errors that the program can jump out of without crashing.
I think that`s what it is.
Especially the way it loads it`s telling me something is not coded correctly.

Links to Yahoo and Google won`t help at all.  Search this site for SEO (I think there`s an article somewhere, but I am not sure where to send you).  Links to your customers under the heading of "Where can I buy ..." will help your SEO.

OK on the prices, but I didn`t see anything on your site that says that you are the manufacturer.  I am sure other visitors would be as confused, especially because a couple of the photos in your slide show look just like an IKEA store.

Alexis,

OK, how about this.  I personally don`t like flash movies or slide shows that start automatically.  I think that they distract from the point of the website in the first place.

If the flash file is large, then it will take some additional time to load the movie or slide show the first time.  But you are probably correct about the character set used - I didn`t look at the source code.
