Sales Idea:
American author and salesman Dale Carnegie
once said, "A person`s name is to that person
the sweetest and most important sound in any
language."

Remembering a name immediately establishes
you as someone who listens... someone who
cares... two very important characteristics in
sales and life.

Here are 3 quick tips to help you better remember
the names of anyone you meet...

  1. Give full attention
    • Make a conscious effort to listen and remember.
  2. Repeat the name
    • Repeat the name silently to yourself.
  3. Make an association
    • Connect the name with a famous person or image.
    Imagine a Jerry as sports agent Jerry Maguire or a
    Marilyn as Marilyn Monroe
    .

That is such a wonderful tip. It show personal interest in people and elicit more positive responses.  After all we are in people businesses.  By the way I am going to "borrow" your post and send it to some non-SUN friends.

I like to ryhme a prospects name poetically.

eg.

George Bush, the big push.

It helps me if I repeat the name a couple times.  And I`ll say it to them like, "Y`know Drew, I think it`s really interesting what you`re saying about..."

That`s a good way to build into a personal
type of relationship. Like it reads in the initial
post, people like to hear their name.

I love to make people feel good with
me by using their names.

So the more you say it, I believe the more
building and growing you`re creating.
