First and foremost… It’s not an easy job!
Don’t have any misconceptions about getting rich quick. It’s just NOT going to happen!
You can make a decent living if you’re willing to invest the enormous amount of time it takes to really get things going.
A good understanding of the industry and knowing the tasks you will have to complete on a daily basis will get you off on the right foot.
Some sort of training is a good idea if you’re new. Just be careful!! There are a lot of so called “Broker Training” scams out there.
If you really want to try and become a freight broker agent, I do know of a couple of companies that will take on Broker Agents that have little to no experience.
They do require that you get training, but they don’t charge you an upfront fee. If you are hired you attend the training and then pay for it out of what you are making while actually doing the job.
In other words… If their training is BS and doesn’t work you obviously aren’t going to pay anything.
That’s the only way new people should try and break into the business. DON’T PAY any upfront fees. If a company isn’t willing to let you pay for the training by doing the job they are training you to do, doesn’t sound like they believe in their methods very much.
If you want the info for the pay after training just let me know.
