I need to both advertise my services and find free lance work in my field. Please post your experiences with the online freelance services. I appreciate any input you can give me. Thanks. JW

Well, the obvious answer seems to be elance.com. I`m only experimenting with this (I just posted a web programming job there, with a dozen of respondents). The site seems reliable: you can reviews on freelancers, there`s an escrow account service, etc. They operate mostly in tech fields, so its relevance to your needs may depend on what you are looking for.

For specific type of freelance work there`s proz.com, the world`s largest network of freelance translators. I`ve been a rather active member there since 2000, and I can say only the best. For any translation needs, turn to proz.com.
