Hi Craig,

You're absolutely right about the podcast being directed at the small business audience (as opposed to a technical/development audience).  However, my point was that I believe the small business audience was misled.

If you take a second listen to the episode, you will hear Nicole associate Javascript with navigation menus on a website and the search engine robots' inability to crawl those links - navigation menus are one of the most important pieces in a website interface (arguably, the most important).

At about 2:40 in the episode, in reference to navigation within Javascript, Rich asks "So, what ever is rolled down, whatever content is there - it won't be seen?"  To which Nicole replies with a resounding "Nope."

I was simply presenting my argument that you can have engaging Javascript-action navigation menus that can be seen (by search engine robots).  This is achieved by using the latest CSS techniques.

In closing, if you are a small business owner or marketer, please ask your web designer/developer about these techniques.  This will ensure you have the perfect marraige of form and function.

Best,
Rick

Fair enough. :-) I didn't check it out that closely, and your argument stands.  Craig Landes
