I drive 25,000 hits/day to my Website. And I did $45,000 a day in affiliate sales with a ppc ad budget of just $225.
Thanks for the info. It's great stuff.
I agree, providing lots of content for the search engines to index is a great idea.

The problem isn't can you be found by your actual name. I did a Google
search for "Search marketing consulting" and A2.com wasn't anywhere
near the top in results.
Content definitely is king, but let's not get hyperbolic about how it'll make millions with just a few, turn-key operations. :-)

Just listened to the podcast and the information about writing content for humans and not the search engines are 100% incorrect.
Any good SEO / Online Marketing person knows that content should be written for both Humans AND the search engines. The Key is not only doing good keyword research but combining the content and keywords so that the result is clear natural content. You can't do this if you're a 'Left Brained' type of person you have to leverage the 'Right Brain' to do this. This method applies for writing press releases that will be submitted online (to places like Yahoo!).
Google will ding you for writing unclear and fractured content.

I appreciate everyone's comments.
Since 90% of my consulting business is within 100 miles of my home, I've optimized Google accordingly. Feel free to Google "google marketing ann arbor" and you'll discover I'm #1. And I'm listed on the 1st page under "internet marketing ann arbor." My goal is to find clients with whom I may share a cup of java and not spend countless hours on tele-conference calls.
You may also wish to search for "reach david."
FYI, these days, I earn most of my income through affiliate programs. I'm not able to share all my secrets with you; however, feel free to visit www.a2.com/internet-marketing.html to learn more. I welcome your questions.
Warm regards,
David

Dear Rich,
Thanks for writing; it's nice hearing from you again.
There are too many areas to cover in this brief forum; hence, that's why I asked folks to visit me online where I outlined many strategies which work for me.
Feel free to take a look and direct any questions to me. I'm always happy to help out.

I actually think this statement or fact-finding operation or whatever you want to call it is useless. What would be more telling of a SEO's work is the results his clients have achieved.
When you are searching for his company, you are ignoring what his own marketing needs are. If he doesn't do his marketing through search engines, it would make sense for him to not appear there. I know that sounds odd for a SEO to not market himself through search engines, but I see it as pretty smart ... a small shop can only handle so much work, so he has mostly local clients. Google result will often compete on price in the web arena - smart consultants don't play that game when they don't need to.
The point is ... don't be so quick to judge because you didn't find him searching for SEO. I doubt you'd find me anywhere on the results for a web developer or marketing consulting for many of the same reasons (small company, oversaturated service market, target market isn't looking for me through Google, I don't compete on price). I don't know this particular person or his business - I'm just presenting that there are valid reasons for him to not do his own marketing on Google.
