I'm turning to you entrepreneurial boomers to help me out if you can.
If you have the time between now and Thanksgiving to go to my blog Light, Motion and Magic, please consider entering my little contest. I'm trying to do 2 things: grow a list of good, reader-tested blogs helpful to entrepreneurs, AND get some comments on my blog. Thanks!

Anne,
I think your problem may be that you require people to register in order to post a comment. I tried to post a comment but it told me I had to sign in or registered to post a comment. I was trying to help you by making the post but I really don't want to register for something I don't use (movable type) so I passed. It's likely anyone else who's just passing by your blog and want to post will also see registering as an extra, unnecessary hastle.
Just an opinion, but I thought you might want to hear that view. I'm not familiar with movable type or if you can create some type of setting where people can post without registering but if you can I would recommend you do so because most people familiar with posting comments on blogs don't want to have to register.

So, instead of wasting my comment, I'll post it here for you (already had it typed up):
Hi Anne,
I read a large number of business blogs and here are some of my favorites:

http://www.problogger.com
http://www.copyblogger.com

Hey, you might want to also check out my 'Ethical Blogger Award' that I've given to a handful of bloggers who I feel are very ethical in business and blogging: http://internetprofitplanning.com/blog/ethics-in-blogging-and-marketing-ethical-blogger-award/
Hope you find these as helpful as I do!

What about posting the link to your blog, too? :-)
Here are some additional thoughts. I went to your SuN profile to find a
link to your blog, and see you have no profile. You're not making
yourself personable---not putting a person behind your online presence.
That's usually a desire to be anonymous, and would likely help reduce
the interest and commentary on a blog.
Additionally, I went to the blog and couldn't easily find anything that
explains what the blog is about. At the least, I'd create a page and
link it to a tab that says "About this Blog," or something along those
lines.
The sad observation is that in today's world, people seem to have lost
the concept of the art of conversation. A blog is almost the perfect
mirror of that lack of bi-directional communication. It's mostly
someone's opinion, editorializing about some subject, with little
interest in feedback and comment.
So if you're wanting your blog to become a conversation, then I'd
suggest taking a closer look at how often you open up a channel for
someone else to speak, comment, discuss, or connect with you. I'm
seeing three opportunities just via this thread. There's gotta be more,
right? :-)

Thanks so much for the comments.
First of all, Angela, I didn't realize before now that a sign up was required, and it's not even working! My sincere apologies. I'm working to fix it. A learning curve here.
And Craig, I thought I did have a SuN profile, but evidently not! Once again, something I didn't realize. I will get my profile done today. I think it's another good idea to fully explain what the blog is about. The tag line to my blog title, Light, Motion and Magic is "that's what it takes for a woman entrepreneur to start her own business," and I thought that was explanation enough, but evidently not. I'll definitely put an "about this blog" section up.
Thanks, both.

The comment section is now working on my blog, and I've filled out my SuN profile. My contest is still going on, so if anyone wants to leave a comment through tomorrow, Thanksgiving, listing additional sites that help them as an entrepreneur, you will be eligible for a drawing. I'll announce the winners on Friday. I am an entrepreneur blogging about my observations, experiences and the business resources I discover as I start my own business.
