HAVE A LIFE!

I learned this very Valuable technique over 40 years ago and it still works every time!

1. Get a box of 2"x 4" or 3"x 5" file cards.

2. Write everything you would need to do to start your business starting with making your plan and list of goals.  Then take each item and write it on one of the cards.      Plaster a wall in your bedroom or someplace you will see it every day.

3. Try to keep the cards in order of what you need to do and when you need to do it.

4. Add or delete the cards you feel you need to in order to perfect and execute your plan.

5. Start taking the cards down one at a time as you complete each card's task or 'To Do' list. (hopefully you can do more than one thing each day)   Even if it takes you six months, a year or even 3 years... As long as you continue to take down the cards one at a time completing each task, you will absolutely reach your goal.  The more cards you have devoting one small task for each card, the more excited and motivated you will be.  For example, do not write "Create business plan." on one card.  It would be better to write;  "Divide business plan into sections of ten." and then have ten different cards for each section of your business plan.  When you see cards flying off your list with all the red 'Xs' showing... believe me... It will stimulate you and drive you to work harder and faster.

6. When you have finished each task, put the cards you have completed and turn them over putting them back on the wall with notes added about what you did and how you did it.  Place a bright red 'X' on the completed card with a marker so you can see your progress each day.

7. If you see the progress you are making staring at you on a wall covered with cards you will begin to get excited and work harder at it.  It is very exciting to see those big red 'Xs' start to accumulate!

8.  When you are done... You have arrived and are now running your business!

9.  NEVER listen to or take advice from friends, family or ANYONE who does not know more than you about what you are doing.  Surround yourself with successful people and take their advice!  "A wise person learns from the mistakes of others... A fool makes their own."

10.

This works with any goal... Health (Fitness programs, Diet changes, etc.),
'To Do' lists for everything from getting your house in order to Budgeting and Financial goals, Family and Friendship goals, Charitable and Service/Volunteer Goals.  ( I  STRONGLY  believe your success in your business and personal life is in direct correlation with how much you give back.  Almost every successful person will tell you the same thing.  You get back what you give out.

Believe me, this works better than ANYTHING  I have ever bought or downloaded.

And remember, 'EVERYTHING'  is A NUMBERS GAME.  You  need to get a certain amount of rejections ("No thank you.")  before you get 'one' "Yes."  So get excited about the "No thank you's" because it means you are just getting that much closer to a "Yes."

Need a good Life/Business Coach?  Hire me or anyone else that is qualified.  Need FREE help with something?  I can be reached at:    gaspdesign@earthlink.net     Please put "StartupNation friend"  in the subject matter heading and I will answer if you have a quick question or have laid out all your information completely. I will be happy to respond... even by phone if you include your number.  (I will never call you to solicit my services or sell your information.)  I am booked pretty solid but can always find an opening for those I feel are driven to succeed and will take direction.  I try to answer all emails myself personally... but please be patient.  I get hundreds of emails asking for free help and advice monthly.  If it truly is urgent, then add the word "URGENT!" in the subject matter bar and I will respond quickly if I feel it is truly urgent and not just a ploy to get to the front of the line.

Good luck!  You can do it.  But you absolutely need to do your homework and TEST your market before investing your nest egg.  Always start out small and buy used items from others who are going out of business.  It does not matter what you drive or where you live.  People will buy from you if you look the part by how you dress and how you carry yourself...and are excited about what you are doing.

Don't know what the proper look is or how to act?  Look at people you feel are  the most successful and mimic them.  Dress like them.  Act like them.  Copy those people who radiate success by how they look, act and feel.  Look the part... Act the part... and if you are sincere and honest, people will respond to you.

Another good tip is to always promise people less than what you plan to give them... and then give them more than what they expected.

Great service will always set you apart from the masses.

Stick with this site.  It is probably the best advice you will ever find online!

Thank you so much for this information, I've been holding off writing my goals and life plan for a long time, and I thank you for this article.  I have made my life plan and I trully feel good about putting it into action,  I always though that since I had it in my head, it'd work out; now I trully believe it will work out because I wrote my vision down.  Thank you sooooo much.
