Really? You came here to ask this? You're wasting your and our time asking this type of question here IMO.
  1. Google is your friend
  2. Buy books on the subject
  3. After you've read countless books/articles, come back and ask pointed questions
I'm not trying to be rude but you may as well have asked, "I have all this wood and nails - how do I make a house now?"

No question is a dumb question.

Root505, the knowledge needed to build a business is vast.  The "3 Components" podcast is a great resource for getting the mind going.  But a lot more learning and thought goes into planning your own business.  Keep reading and listening to the podcasts and you'll get smarter and closer to starting it up!

I don't think there is a "best" - as in one best business model or best way to fund your new business. It's more important to determine what will work for you and your business.

Sometimes it could help to have the incremental step between idea and full fledged business plan. It is my mantra. root505, your first step should be to define your basic vision. Can you put down on paper, in 100 words or less, what you want to do. From there you plan can emerge, helping you to consider the rest of your plan: Objectives - Mission - Strategies - Programs - Metrics, etc. Matson Breakey
