I'm am new at this and am trying to get a handle on the "lingo" ie: Widgets ??
I don't have a clue what that is.
Where could I find a dictionary of Internet related terms that I could go to when I see something that is new to me. I think this would speed up my learning curve.
Thanks.

Try wikipedia.
A widget is like a ready-made program. They give you a little snippet of code (often JavaScript), you paste it in, and a little program runs on your site.

I recommend checking out info on search engine optimization and content management systems over just paginating a website properly.

Widgets to me in easy terms are different shaped banners.
They are for advertising, look out for those that you can brand
yourself with, that can be even better then.

Going back to the concern of widgets adding to the clutter of a page ....
I think a widget should have a defined purpose before it becomes a part of a site, and should not be used just because it looks cool.
Also, the widget should look like it's a part of the site.
Great post.
