A true story:  The business phone rang and I answered with a bright, cheery voice "Home Office Management Experts!"  A potential customer found my professional ad in the yellow book and called to inquire about my service.  After a lengthy discussion we made an appointment to meet the next day.  I arrived early and when I got out of the car, I put on my jacket.  We met and talked for about 2 hours...I gave him the extra time because the conversation was going well, he was someone I wanted to work with and the price was right.  He hired me.  As I was leaving he told me that he "hired" me when he saw me put on my jacket!  He happened to be looking out the window when I drove up and he was very impressed that I took the time and the effort to look professional before I walked through the door, especially since it was over 100 degrees that day!   Find more tips and other information on Home-Based Businesses at: www.thehome-office.com

Cool story! Dale King discussed in a post earlier the importance of presentation in business. I totally agree with you and this is one of the small things which is often overlooked but so crucial.Hersh Bhardwaj
