Hey,
You can use OL for e-commerce, I use essentials. What I did, though, was to use my shopping cart program to create a "buy now" button that hyperlinks to the cart as a separate entity. It's kind of a weird work-around, but I couldn't find any direct e-commerce capabilities through OLE.
Hope that helps! Bob Henline

I am a web developper, I started my own website builder very recently (http://www.ugal.net). I created a website using Office Live and looked at the HTML code. I could not believe how BAD it is. My simple page was 150+K, which is way too much for something that simple. The markup did not comply with any of the standards out there, so there is no wonder why people have compatibility issues. Anybody that does not use Internet Explorer on a PC will have issues looking at your website. I still cannot believe a company like Microsoft is able to put something that bad in the market. Any startup doing the same would be dead in a matter of weeks.

I am a Graphics and Web Designer. My first couple of websites were made with FrontPage 2003, however, I've never worked with Office Live. About a month ago, I purchased Dreamweaver 8 and went from drawing tables and
cells to coding div tags and css.
For new start up companies, I presume
Office Live would be a "good" tool just to get up on the web quickly
and easily. If you have time to make a quality website, either hire a
designer (hint, hint) or use a tool like Dreamweaver and learn how to
code. Commander K | The Creative Liberties Network

Or use a service like UGAL.net that generates standard compliant html code...

OK, next question. What should I figure for my monthly fee on a website?? figure e-commerce, with all the bells and whistles, for a site that has ALL 35,000+ products, plus hosting and possibly e-mail. Look at it as a business that pretty much runs it's self. several pricing structures, contract pricing allowances. when my prices change from my supplier, it's automatically updated, or could be with a simple click of a mouse.
figure set up, customer service, monthly hosting fee, etc . . . what would/should i expect to pay for something like this??
thanks for the help i've seen so far. But without faith it is impossible to please him; for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrew 11:6

I am thinking about using Microsoft Office Live, but I have a .us domain.
The program doesn't give me any options to use .us.
Any suggestions?

Hello,
let me know if you are interested in giving UGAL.net a try. Our content
management solutions are much better than those available with Office
Live, and... we support .us domain names.
Contact me at jean@ugal.net if you are interested, I will be glad to create a demo for you.
Thanks

Thanks Jean... I may want to take a look at a demo and see how it works. What is the cost?
