Hey out there!

Anyone else using the Office Live site?
I'd like to hear some more experiences from SuN members.

I've used Office Live Site for a little over a month now. I played around with the "basic" site builder tools but soon found out it was limited in functionality. Have others used their COTS tools to build a useful site?

Hey all,

I set up a website using the beta of OfficeLiveEssentials.  I haven't figured out all of the functionality yet, and I'd especially love some e-commerce capabilities.  What I did do, however, was create links to a free shopping cart program with "buy now" links on my product descriptions.  For now that will have to do because all of the information I'm getting from MS and other OL users is that the web designer piece doesn't have HTML editing capabilities.

But, as far as free stuff goes, I'm liking it alot!

Best of luck to you, let's keep in touch and see how it all plays out.

I have been using OL Basic for a few months now and it has definately gotten better.  In May there was some downtime fairly frequently, but it has been better lately.  It still has bugs and because of those bugs it has taken several hours of redoing work to get my site to where it is.  Overall I'm happy with my site, but I think Microsoft was a little too quick to open this beta up to the masses with huge advertising.  Before it became more stable, it was not a reliable website for a business, I have been on the phone walking through my site with a client and the site would just go down in the middle of the day.  Quite embarassing!  If they fix the bugs and add a little more functionality and options OLB will be great.

I have a secondary site that I created for one of my companies services with the Office Live program. www.execupool.com , it only took about 1 hour tpo set it up. I think that some of the traffic monitoring tools they give you are pretty good. Best Wishes! Ken Schroeder,President

I am using Frontpage 2003 to build my site NeilyNet.Net. Had some issues with the Outlook connector, so I called Bombay India tech support. Happy to report this is NOT your DELL customer support call center flavor, these people actually know what they are doing -- VERY helpful in resolving my Outlook integration issues. Nice to ring the 800 number too!

I would like to connect with a few PC savvy users who have an Office Live Essentials site. I want to test/eval the Business Apps and Sharepoint collaborative feature - any takers?

email me offline if you're interested in testing Office Live Essentials?

Peace

hi all,

been wanting to test the OL program, but need to know one main thing. . . can i use the 'essentials' for e-commerce??  can i sell stuff with it??  will this work for a site and a shopping cart and all??

or should i just go with the basics and use it for email and an informative site??

thanks in advance!!
