As a designer of a new accessories line (CUFFLUVSTUFF.COM) I'm wondering if you have any advice on distribution strategy.  I have had great response locally, but now it's time to get my line into other markets and I'm struggling with what is the best approach...

I do have a store listing on my site and I agree - retailers appreciate it. I am being featured in a large national magazine this Fall as well and I think it'll drive people to their stores.

I wish I could get celebrities to wear my products but that wouldn't be good since it's food.  I did send a big pack of dip mixes to the Ellen show because I enjoy her show from time to time, but haven't heard anything back. I didn't really expect to anyway. Hopefully someone is enjoying them and not letting them go to waste.

Chris,

Maybe celebrities can't/won't wear your Dippy Chick Dips, but they sure can use them. How about food shows? Who would have ever thought there would be an entire network devoted to food and cooking? Not me. The people who conduct/host these food shows are celebrities to the people watching on a regular basis. Hit 'em up. Send them some free samples. Ask them to try them and give you feedback.  You never know. All it would take is for one prominent show to use and feature your dips and you'd have to hire some more Dippy Chicks

Thanks Richard! Yes, I plan to do some food shows in the future. It's all in the works.

Speaking of wearing dip... My husband had two female friends who came to our wedding shower a few years ago. They were best friends and used to make jabs at each other all of the time. I'll never forget... some dip fell off one girl's chip and landed on her shoe. Her friend didn't miss a beat and said "That wouldn't happen if you wore underwear." (She was wearing a dress.) OMG, my husband and I still crack up over that one! (I'm laughing now.)  I know it's gross but I had to share. That was my funniest dip moment! So I guess celebrities could wear my dips in a sense, but I can't say I recommend it due to comments like that.

Hi Chris,

It's nice to hear that you are getting some good press. Another possibility is to contact caterers and publicists to the stars.

Perhaps you can get your dip at a big, Hollywood party or in one of the Academy Award baskets? If you can get a star behind your product, you can really use that to your advantage!

I was thinking of doing some dippy chick t-shirts. Wouldn't that be the funniest cartoon? I can totally picture it.

Jules, welcome to the boards!!!! can you describe just a little more about the details. for example, you have what kind of distribution locally and you're seeking what kind nationally? your product (line) is what? give us more meat on the bones. flesh it out a little more!
