I think it depends how much control the business owner would like to have over their web site. Templated web sites like mySpace are good for somethings, bad for others. Just determine the importance that your web site will play within your business and go from there.

Hello Rich,

I noticed 4 links to Merchant Account processors on your "start with these" page. How did you choose these 4 and how would a company add themselves to this list?

This is the most important step to building a kick-ass web system for your small business. I see too many companies that call and say "just build us a website." They just want brochure-ware without thinking about goals, their customers and ROI.

There has never been more amazing and cheap tools out there that almost anybody, with a little training, can use to build or enhance their business online.

Anyone who calls and asks to "just build a Web site," could just as easily ask, "Just start a catalog mail-order business for us." Craig Landes
