Thanks so much Joel for the opportunity to share some time with you on the latest Community Podcast. By the way, I learned a lot from the forum posts that you took us through for the Friday flag hunt, so I'm already a winner!
I'm curious what other folks thought about some of the ideas we discussed. Let's "Start Up" a little conversation!
All the best,

Cool podcast :-) Now you could either take a portion of it and put it
on a "play" button on your site, or record a voice-over explanation of
your site and hook it to that play button.
This is the first time I've downloaded an interview, then gone to the
Web site when I heard the URL on the podcast, and listened to the
author while reading (looking at) the site. It's a whole new concept in
multimedia....well, for me it is. :-)
Not long ago I shot about 2 hours of video of a car trip through the
Rockies. Folks in our group asked for a copy of the video, but as I was
making those copies, I realized it was just flat. Bohhhhrrring...
I got out some CDs, put them into a cheap mixer, and put in a sound
track to the video. Totally new dimension! It's really true that we've
become accustomed to hearing "the sound track of our lives," as if we
were part of a movie.
There's a problem with going to a Web site and hearing music, or
voice-over when I'm not in the mood. But there's also a real added
value when I AM in the mood, to hear someone talk about why they put up
a site, what they like about it, what it represents, and so forth.
There's gotta be an elegant way to bring all this together. :-)

Hi Craig:
Thanks for your comments. I do like the idea about allowing people to listen to the interview while looking at the site, and that was basically the suggestion I had for the Flash player on the home page of StartupNation. People can listen to the Startup Nation podcasts and browse at the same time.
I'm curious how others feel about having the podcasts available for instant listening in a Flash player on the home page, or on another part of the site.
I think the best way I can let people know about the interview is by creating a post about it on my site, and maybe then create a special banner for the sidebar. In general, I think it's better to send people back to the magazine/website where the article/interview was published, and I would definitely need permission to run the audio from inside my site.
The other option is to send people to the RSS feed so they can decide if they want to start automatically downloading them in iTunes or another "Podcatcher."
All great things to think about!
All the best,
Andrew
