Blog writers should also be sure to include their blog in available online directories for such efforts.  For example, a great deal of local traffic has found its way to bLog-oMotives through ORblogs - a directory of Oregon-based blogs.  Individuals/companies looking for a graphic designer have found my own business through Designers Who Blog.  Traffic to my blog, and requests for project information, is on the increase since I posted my own on MyBlogLog.

I saw this post by Jeff yesterday and he ended up on the community podcast! It was a terrific conversation - we referenced this forum topic & the article that it started from.

Check it out!

This is the first article I read (I used "stumble.com" to find it). I have been trying to tell the local women business groups I belong to that blogging would really enhance their visibility... If I could get several members to contribute an article or two a month it would be an amazing resource of info and a draw for new members. I will have to e- several of them this link - this is a great article that anyone (not too techie for those who don't have the lingo...) thanks!Veronika, design therapist

Can't help but be thrilled to see Jeff's name here! I read about him in a design book, then saw his work on about.com, posted a general question on a forum that I didn't know he was in and he answered, then read a book review that he's mentioned in, and now see him here!

Jeff, you are very cool! I love your work- and if you're ever in Central NY and feel like speaking to a group I've got about four professional organizations that would be honored to listen!

I know you are correct about blogging. I've been told to do it 2-3 times a week. about as much as you should bathe your hair., as stated in  my DVDs at Style Like A Pro.com. Do you believe in sending out PR and writing articles? If so how often?
So is the book you recommended really helpful? I've got so many books to read, now I've got to narrow them down. Please reply....  Sandy Sandy Taylor-Furst Style Like A Pro "When you look good, you feel great, the whole world is at your fingertips!"

Blogging is new to me.  The article was great.  But I am wondering what the cpm (cost per thousand) metrics are for a blog.  Say a business wanted to generate money through selling sponsorships to their blog. Has blogging created a higher or lower cpm compared to search engines?  Has anyone heard of any information sources that are current with that kind of information on it?
